John Kelly, Sr’s Philadelphia

45″ x 35″ Framed Acrylic Original: $4,950  SOLD
“John B. Kelly, Sr. was the father of actress Grace Kelly (Princess Grace of Monaco), a prominent Philadelphia businessman, and a three-time Olympic gold medalist in the sport of rowing, getting his start along the Schuylkill River.  This painting pays tribute to the time of classic rowing with the Philadelphia skyline as it would have appeared during Kelly’s day, with the small Waterworks buildings in front of the newly-built Art Museum in the background, which was completed in 1928.  Boathouse Row would be just off to the left of this scene.” -Liz
